Range 7W to 18W nominal value Operating safety fearures include: Lamp missing, reverse polarity protection, self re-setting fused input, open circuit and short circuit output proof. Broken lamps however should be removed without delay. The ballasts are suitable for all types of fluorescent lamps having 4-pins. Please note, all ballasts can be set during manufacture to plus or minus 1W from the nominal values listed. All wattages from 6W to 18W may be specified when ordering. If intended for use externally in damp conditions please ask for Conformal Coating which has an extra cost of 50p per item. Conformal Coating is a special electrical varnish to prevent tracking between components on PCB. This is particularly relevant for lepidopterists and marine application where damp conditions prevail. The ballast converts 12V DC into high voltage, high frequency AC to strike and run the lamp. LVF ballasts can be used for replacement of failed ballasts in existing fittings.
